The Women's Leadership Board holds biannual Board Meetings on the Harvard campus in May and November. These meetings are designed to inform members of current programs and research being undertaken at Harvard University concerning the advancement of women and girls globally, to provide for interaction with current and future emerging women leaders and to enhance awareness of related work undertaken by WLB members in their individual arenas.
The Women's Leadership Board holds several Regional Meetings a year hosted by individual members in the United States and around the world. Past meetings have been held in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., London, Dubai and Cambridge. These meetings provide another venue for members to hear from Harvard faculty or external speakers on research concerning women and girls. These meetings are an extraordinary way for members to come together and learn from one another.
Recent Regional Event: Twelve members of the U.S. Pacific South Region gathered on Thursday September 18th for a lunch hosted by Renee LaBran and Diane Dixon with Special Guest Speaker, Donna Kalikow, Executive Director of the Harvard Kennedy School Center for Public Leadership. Donna presented research regarding "Millennial Generation: How they will lead?" The group then discussed personal experience and observations, adding to the rich discussion.
Members of the Women's Leadership Board are encouraged to participate in international Leadership Delegations which generally occur once a year. The purpose of these delegations is to provide members with first-hand knowledge of challenges and opportunities facing women in various parts of the world, to create meaningful partnerships between the WLB and women leaders in specific regions and to extend the impact of the Harvard Kennedy School's work to traditionally marginalized constituencies. In the past, delegations have visited South Africa, Liberia, China and Egypt.
