Experience: Carol Fulp is senior vice president of corporate responsibility and brand initiatives at John Hancock Financial, where she oversees civic affairs, corporate giving, and special brand initiatives. She leads a $12 million philanthropic giving program and develops innovative programming for youth in need, including the country's largest corporate summer jobs program. Fulp previously held senior management positions at WCVB-TV Boston and the Gillette Company. In 2010, President Obama appointed Fulp as Representative of the United States to the 65th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. She has also been appointed as a trustee to the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority by Governor Patrick, trustee of the University of the Virgin Islands by Governor John de Jongh, trustee for the Boston Public Library by Mayor Menino, and trustee of the Kennedy Presidential Library Foundation. Fulp also serves on the board of directors of American Student Assistance. She is also founding co-chair of the Massachusetts Conference for Women. Fulp has received the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Award, the Massachusetts Democratic Party's Eleanor Roosevelt Award, Museum of Afro-American History's Living Legend Award, the Anti-Defamation League's Women of Valor Award, and the United Nations of Greater Boston Global Leaders Award. John Hancock's parent company Manulife created a Global Citizen Award to recognize Fulp's United Nations work. Boston Magazine listed Fulp among the "50 Most Powerful Women in Boston." Fulp received a bachelor of science from the University of the State of New York. She is married to C. Bernard Fulp, chair of Go-Biz Solutions and founder of Middlesex Bank and Trust Company.
