Experience: Dato Fawziah Abdul Karim is the owner president of SSU Management Services Sdn. Bhd. After a short service with the government, Karim ventured into her own business and became a successful entrepreneur, owning over 50 companies engaged in construction, travel agents, property management, consultancy, and education. She is currently a board member of Harvard Kennedy School Women's Leadership Board, Boston. In the field of construction her companies were involved in civil and structural engineering works with a total volume of 1 billion Malaysian Ringgit. In the field of education, her companies are involved in joint ventures with schools in China, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and Australia. In line with her belief that learning continues from the womb to the tomb, she is currently involved in the development of a retirement village in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, equipped with alternative health treatments from all over the world including acupuncture from China, ayurveda from India, aromatherapy, etc. This project will cost approximately 750 million Malaysian Ringgit and is currently still under construction, expected to be completed in early 2014.
