Experience: Jan Babiak is Ernst & Young’s Global Climate Change & Sustainability Services Leader with responsibility for establishing the strategy and ensuring we deliver consistent, seamless, high quality climate change transformation and sustainability services to our clients around the world. In addition to ensuring we develop and deliver market leading services across all industries, she also provides board level coordination with government offices, regulatory bodies, national professional bodies and other stakeholders including clients, investors and academics on climate change and sustainability related matters. This includes representing Ernst & Young and the profession on climate change related boards or working groups convened by the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Prince Charles’ Accounting for Sustainability (A4S), the Confederation of British Business (CBI), the Institute of Charted Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and more. Areas under her responsibility include teams delivering advisory, assurance, tax and transaction services focused on clean tech, renewable energy, carbon trading, environmental policy and taxation, green building, green supply chain, carbon measurement and modeling, corporate responsibility reporting, Clean Development Mechanism/Joint Implementation projects under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and beyond. Jan is a board member of the prestigious Committee of 200, has been recognized as the CBI’s First Women of Technology in 2005 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Women in Business and Finance 2007.
