Experience: Lauren Embrey is CEO and president of the Embrey Family Foundation and CEO of Embrey Interests, Ltd, both located in Dallas, TX. Embrey currently serves as a board member of Big Thought, The Dallas Film Society, The Dallas Women's Foundation, Planned Parenthood of North Texas, TACA, and Titas in Dallas, The Nest Foundation in Los Angeles and the MS Foundation in NYC. Embrey is vice chair of the Women Moving Millions Initiative, a member of the Women's Donor Network, and the Global Philanthropist Circle, an initiative of Synergos Institute in NYC. Embrey is also a philanthropist for the Nobel Women's Initiative. Embrey received the Women that Soar Award for Philanthropy in 2009, the Champion of Human Rights Award, and the Women Who Give Hope Award in 2010 from organizations based in Dallas, TX. The Embrey Family Foundation received the 2009 Award for Outstanding Foundation by the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the 2009 Angel of Freedom Award from Human Rights Initiative in Dallas. Embrey's passion is theater, film, and human rights work. She produced the US premiere of Truth in Translation in 2007 at Southern Methodist University. She is executive producer for the documentary Playground, a film on the commercial sexual exploitation of children in America. Embrey is also an actress and dancer. She loves travel, adventure, animals, and being with people of from different origins and cultures. Embrey considers herself a philanthropic activist.
